Money 20:20 Trade Show Furniture
About
Money 20/20 is a global fintech trade show, bringing together leaders, startups and innovators from across the financial technology sector. Back in 2016, ARN Design was commissioned by Tarren Production to produce a range of bespoke furniture and installations for the Copenhagen event.
This was one of our earlier large-scale projects - and one that really helped shape the direction of the business. The brief was to create impactful CNC-manufactured furniture that would provide informal meeting points, as well as calm, comfortable spaces within the busy exhibition environment.

What We Did
Concept & CAD Design
The process began with concept development and CAD modelling, translating Tarren Production’s brief into practical, buildable furniture pieces. At the time, this project significantly pushed forward our then-nascent CAD skills - refining curves, tolerances and structural logic so the pieces would not only look striking but also assemble efficiently on site.
Designing for a live trade show environment meant considering transport, flat-pack efficiency and rapid installation, all within the digital design stage.
CNC Furniture Manufacture
All elements were designed for CNC machining, allowing complex forms and repeated components to be produced accurately. At the time, we outsourced the CNC cutting, but this project was the turning point that ultimately persuaded us to invest in our own CNC machine.
Seeing how powerful CNC manufacturing could be in creating bold, sculptural yet practical furniture changed the way we approached fabrication from that point on.
Prototyping, Assembly & Installation
Prototyping played an important role in refining the pieces before final production. Once cut, components were assembled and finished ready for installation at the Copenhagen venue.
One standout feature was the large “bird cage” seating structure - designed as a quieter retreat within the exhibition floor. It quickly became a popular spot, with visitors enjoying the semi-enclosed space for informal meetings and a moment of calm away from the busier areas.
The Result
The finished installation delivered a series of visually distinctive, CNC-manufactured furniture pieces that supported both interaction and relaxation within the Money 20/20 trade show space.
For ARN Design, this project marked a significant step forward. It strengthened our CAD capabilities, deepened our understanding of CNC-led fabrication, and ultimately led to the purchase of our own CNC machine - shaping the future direction of the workshop.
