What We Did
The brief was to transform in-game visuals from The Meat King into real-world props that would grab attention, resonate with fans of the game and help build excitement ahead of release. When we saw the chest with the eyeball, we relished the challenge, knowing we had to stretch ourselves a little.
With only a few in-game screenshots and rough proportions to work from, ARN had the perfect opportunity to push boundaries in fabrication and model-making. This project would involve CAD, CNC, Laser Cutting, 3D printing, animatronics, modelling techniques and stylised painting!
Concept & CAD modelling
We began by interpreting the game’s visuals into detailed CAD models, defining shapes, proportions and construction logic so each prop would look faithful to the source material while still being buildable.
3D printing, CNC & laser cutting
Once designs were finalised, components were realised using a mix of 3D printing for organic shapes, CNC machining and laser cutting for structural parts, and various modelling techniques to refine complex forms.
Animatronics & model making
Some elements - especially the iconic chest with the eyeball - required us to stretch creatively. Using animatronic components and stylised modelling, we gave movement and character to the props, creating truly standout pieces and bringing them to life.
Painting & finishing
Careful painting and finishing techniques brought texture, depth and personality to the props, helping each piece feel like it had leapt straight from the King of Meat world into reality.
The result
The finished props are certainly striking, imaginative and highly detailed - perfect for promotional displays, photo ops, launch celebrations or live events. This project allowed ARN to combine traditional model-making with digital fabrication tools like CAD, CNC, laser cutting and 3D printing, giving our client engaging physical assets that celebrate the game’s distinctive style.
We were delighted to give our client something a little extra and push ourselves during the process, picking up new skills and techniques to take our makes even further in the future.
